Easy to install, old one hard to get out

Fixed my leaking toilet, saved hundreds trying this. Easy install! Included water inlet filter and duckbill. I was missing the inlet filter but now it is installed and working great!

My toilet would not stop running. I looked up the part I needed and ordered it. It came with a few other items besides the cartridge. I followed the instructions and with a little adjustments it worked. Reading the info it said to only screw as far as one black thread showing, turn on the water and then tighten in increments, I assume for the air to get out of the tank. It worked! after a few incremental turns the toilet shut off and now works perfect! So easy an old lady can do it!!

Toilet works fabulously with the new kit installed. Repair took less than 20 minutes to complete. Bought the installation tool which made the repair a breeze.

Fix it right, fix it cheap, great product.

I'll admit I am a plumbing failure (most days) but replacing this was cake. I had a toilet that would like like a moose being attached by a mountain lion randomly every few hours in the middle of the night. The cartridge seal had failed. This unit also comes with the duckbill valve and not inlet screen-- neither of which I needed but kept as spares. Pro tip: Use the handles of a pair of large pliers or channel locks to unscrew the old unit (with the water off), turn the water back on and screw in the new unit until the water stops. Reinstall plunger bar, handle, whatever else you unnecessarily took off and enjoy your now fixed throne.

Dont Be A Neanderthal When Installing
Mr. Johnson | April 18th, 2019
My flushmates have been in service since 1998 and this is the first time I have had to fix any of them. This valve was leaking from the top which caused a $50 increase in my water bill over the course of a quarter. In hindsight I should have tried to disassemble it and clean up / lubed the Orings and tried that. Anyways, I did replace it and stopped the leak but was not getting a complete flush. Replaced the duckbill vent that comes with the kit with no results. Replaced the whole inlet vent same outcome. Ended up turning the valve out 3/4 of a turn and BINGO!! Complete flush! I had cranked it in too tight. When installing it helps to lube up the Orings with some light grease so it assembles easy. The wrench for removing and installing these is not needed. Plyer handles work just as well . And remember - DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN!
